Kiss The Cook

I can't believe it's the last day of March already! BBQ season is just around the corner. Honestly, I have a few neighbours that BBQ'd all winter since we didn't have a typical winter. I can't wait for the first burger off the grill which is what Flame Broilin from High Hopes Stamps reminds me of - I can taste it already!

                                                         Donna

Before colouring my image, I added the "lips" from the Ironing Irma stamp and then coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut it. I mounted the image on some sky/grass paper to help it pop a little. I paper pieced his apron using paper from Doodlebug. The sentiment was created on my computer. Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

Oops Ellie

                                 Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

I can't believe it's the last day of March already! Last Thursday we had a major ice storm and this week (starting Sunday) they are calling for plus temperatures - some of them double digits! It has definitely been crazy weather. Some of my friends didn't fair so well with the ice storm so I thought a card featuring Oops Ellie might cheer them up a little. It could also be used for missed birthdays but today I chose to use to hopefully bring a smile.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and them using a Spellbinders circle and my Fiskars circle cutter to cut it out. The stamp is mounted on grey and pink cardstock and patterned paper from the Vintage Bliss paper pad from Simple Stories. A couple corner dies and some grey gumdrops finish off my simple layout for this card.

Magical Day

                            Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

My post today features Julie's Unicorn and a sentiment from the Sentiment #2 set from High Hopes. Nothing says magic and fantasy in my world like a unicorn.

Sparkle Close Up

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and fussy cut him leaving a thin white line. Silver Wink of Stella was added to the mane and tail - what's a unicorn without glitter!
Now more then a few of my fellow DT's will laugh at this but I didn't have a background paper I liked for this stamp so I made my own. I stamped plum and bashful blue inks on water colour paper, spritzed it with water and lightly sponges spots of white acrylic paint on it. I let that dry and then added some swooshes with a silver wink of stella pen. The unicorn is popped up with pop dots, a piece of pearl chain was added and silver glitter gumdrops to finish it off.

Flower Garden

My mom texted me a couple weeks ago and asked me to make a birthday card for her dear friend. I know she likes purple, pink and yellow, and flowers. I also knew Garden Fence from High Hopes Rubber Stamps would be the perfect stamp for her card.

                                                         Donna

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers, and added some glitter to all the flowers with a rose and clear sparkle pen. I used paper from Little Yellow Bicycle, K and Company and my stash. Grape Jelly Gumdrops and some white ribbon from my stash finish off my card.
My mom's friend loved the card and even sent an email to be forwarded to me from my mom to thank me.

Crafting

I belong to quite a few card making groups on Facebook and I have alot of friends who craft. Not only do these groups and friends provide inspiration, they also provide a laugh or a chuckle once and awhile.

This saying has been floating around for a couple weeks now and although I changed the last line......well, some days this saying is true!

Meet Ironing Irma from High Hopes Stamps and I feel like she would like to be crafting rather then ironing!

                                                         Donna

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers, added some glitter to her earrings and dress button and fussy cut her. I used a border from Tattered Lace to cut the bottom out of my cardstock base. I chose to use patterned paper from The Sweetest Thing from MME. A die cut corner, ribbon from my stash and some glittery gumdrops finish off my card.

Kick Back

 Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

I don't know about anyone else but I do love a nap in the sun from time to time. I would like to introduce you to Snoozin' Sam from High Hopes Stamps. I think this card would be perfect for a birthday, retirement or Father's Day card.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and fussy cut him leaving a thin white line. His shirt is paper pieced and the glass in his glasses has Glossy Accents on them. The background was made by stamping around a cloud die with Ocean ink, cutting a picket fence die and a spring grass die. A polaroid die in the background breaks up the striped paper and some gumdrops in the corner finish it off.

My Anchor

It's no secret, I am an animal lover. When I saw this stamp from High Hopes I just had to have it! This little guy is so cute sitting here fishing and just hanging out with his dog.

                                                         Donna

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers added some navy blue and white card stock behind it. Silver brads from my stash were added to the corners. I used some paper from the Making Waves Collection from Fancy Pants and Adrift from Basic Grey. The anchor was stamped from the Float My Boat set from Lawn Fawn and fussy cut. The sentiment is from this set as well. I stamped it and used a fishtail banner die from Your Next Stamp to cut it out. Ribbon from American Craft and some white gumdrops from Your Next Stamp finish it off.

Never Tire Of You

I have a fun little card for you today using Tire Swing Dragon and Never Tire sentiment from High Hopes. We had a blast of winter here last week which put me in spring/summer fun thinking mode.

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers. I ran some blue paper through a Cuttlebug embossing folder to give it the look of my dragon swinging high above the grass and cut out a cardstock background for it with a stitched rectangles die. The dragon fussy cut and popped up with pop dots.
I wanted to add twine to the side of my card but I didn't have a colour to match perfectly. So what is a gal to do? I had some off white twine and lots of it so I cut a piece to the length I wanted, put it on a scrap piece of paper and used the medium colour alcohol marker from my rope on the stamp and coloured my twine with it. Perfect! My card is finished off with my favourite....gumdrops!!

Do Not Disturb

I don't know about anyone else, but for me the perfect end to a stressful or crazy busy day or week is a nice hot bubble bath. My favourite bubble bath was called Chocolate Fudge Sundae - the whole upstairs of my house smelled like chocolate when I used it. It was awesome, but sadly I don't think they make it anymore.

In the spirit of relaxing and bubble baths, my post today is using stamp from High Hopes called Betty Bubbles. I think I need to make a Do Not Disturb sign for my bathroom door when I'm having a bubble bath....hmmm....

                                                         Donna

Bubble Close Up

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers added some Diamond Stickles to the bubbles, and cut my image out with a stitched rectangle die. Betty's glasses are done with gold Wink of Stella and glossy accents for the lenses.  I used my scissors to put a distressed edge on the patterned paper although it's hard to see in the picture. The sentiments were created on my computer and the bottom one is popped up with pop dots. Some glitter gumdrops finish off my card.

Surprise!

For my post today, I am using an older High Hopes stamp called Buddy Bear's Surprise and a Happy Birthday sentiment. When I saw this stamp I knew I had to make a Birthday card with it... although I added a twist - a gift card holder inside!

                                                      Donna

Inside

I started by colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and although I wasn't going to, I fussy cut him out. I created my card base by cutting a standard A2 size card and then cutting the corner off. I cut my patterned paper to match the corner and inked all my edges with Perfect Plum ink. I cut a scalloped circle and circle to put behind buddy and popped him up with pop dots. For the inside, I made a mauve base, added some patterned paper and stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment. I wonder if hubby will notice I took his Tim's card.....

Make It Better

Wow! It's the first of March and spring is just around the corner!

A new month means a new challenge here at One Crazy Stamper.

I am a horse lover, well an animal lover to be honest, but horses hold a special place in my heart and always will. I grew up riding my friends horses and had the pleasure of being owned by one - yes you read that correctly lol, for 12.5 years.

I have more then a few horse stamps but when I saw this one from Your Next Stamp I knew I had to add it to my "collection". There are two stamps with sentiments in this set and it is available at One Crazy Stamper.

I started by colouring my stamp and cutting it out with a stitched square die. I inked the edges and mounted it on cardstock. The patterned paper is cut using fishtail banner dies. Some green vines, a flower and gumdrops (my favourite) finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Jessica With Her Horse - Your Next Stamp
Dies: Stitched Squares, Fishtail Banner Dies - Your Next Stamp
Build A Banner, Vines die - Whimsy Stamps
