Hog Wash

Happy Summer Thursday Fans!

My post today features an older stamp from High Hopes called "Good Clean Fun" and the Hog Wash sentiment also from High Hopes.

Pigs love mud especially on a hot summer day! I added some "mud" to two of these little cuties when I was colouring the image.

My image is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out with a stitched rectangles die. I challenged myself to use some of my scraps and smaller pieces from an Echo Park paper pad as well as some paper from my stash. Fishtail banner dies were the perfect die for cutting these out.  A piece of pink paper run through an embossing folder gave me the perfect background for this very pink card! lol

Vintage Masculine Birthday

I have something a little different to share with you today. I have stepped completely! out of my comfort zone on this card. No colouring and vintage - two things I have never attempted before. And then add to that masculine!

Totally scary to not colour an image for my card but so fun to use different stamps and inks to create my vintage feel background paper and try something new!

I have quite a few men in my life that love their classic cars so this stamp set from Carabelle Studios was a must have when I saw it. This is one of two cars in the set.

I started by choosing a neutral, tan card stock. I used distress ink that was a few shades darker then my card stock and blended my ink around the edges and into the centre of my paper. A post mark, ink splat and words background stamp gave me the perfect additions to add. I used a tan Marvy marker, again a couple shades darker then my ink to stamp the "pieces" of my paper. I loosely ran the marker over the stamp, gave it a "puff" to moisten it and then stamped.
Some hemp cord, keys and brads finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: "Voitures" - Carabelle Studios
Sentiment: Every Day Moments - Whimsy Stamps
Mini Ink Splat - Your Next Stamp
Words - Local King Rubber Stamp Company
Post Mark stamp: Polly - Whimsy Stamps
Ink: Walnut Stain and Antique Linen Distress Ink - Ranger
Inkessentials Blending tool and foam - Ranger
Keys: from my stash
Hemp Jewelry Cord - from my stash
Brads - from my stash
Tan marker: Marvy Plume
Card Stock: Recollections

It felt really good to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone to create this card. I hope you have enjoyed my post today.

Thanks for stopping by! Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated.
Have a fantastic day!

Sew Sweet

Happy Thursday High Hopes fans! It is officially summer - whoo hooo!

I used "Kathy Quilting Angel" and the Sew Sweet sentiment, both fun, older stamps from High Hopes. I personally am not a quilter, I've tried it and honestly it's not my thing but I have a ton of family who love to quilt. I have also been blessed with a lot of quilts made by my Grandmother and there is a ton of love in every stitch.

I wanted my card to look like a quilt piece in progress. After colouring my image and cutting it out, I edged it with some matching turquoise ink. I created my background by using some left over pieces of paper and cutting them into 1" squares. It is not noticeable in the photo but the wings have clear Wink of Stella on them for a bit of glitter and Star Dust Stickles was added to the flower centres for a bit of bling. Sparkly gumdrops and a piece of ribbon finish off my card.

Sick Day! and Twisted Easel Card Tutorial

Wow! I can't believe it's officially summer!

My card doesn't necessarily have a summer theme but we all know someone who will or has gotten sick as soon as the beautiful weather hits. For me, my allergies usually go into over drive.
Today I am sharing "Seymore's Sick Day" and the "Better Quickly" sentiment, both from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I am also including a photo tutorial for the "Twisted Easel" card base I used for this card. Grab a coffee and enjoy!

Seymore's Close Up
His teeth are coloured with a white gel pen. The thermometer has glossy accents on it and I used a red marker to make the line.

Tags Close Up

I started my colouring my stamp with alcohol markers cut out using a stitched  square die. My printer wouldn't let me print even though I had black ink, so I cut out my tags using a stitched tag and stitched rectangles die and added my Get Well Recipes in my own printing with black marker. Some twine makes them easy to pull out of the top of the card. A couple flowers and some gumdrops finish off my card.

Twisted Easel Card Tutorial

Start by laying your card base on your work area with the fold to your left.
You can use whatever size base you will need for the stamp you are using. For my card I am using a base that will give me a finished card size of 5x5.

Open the card base so your fold is in the middle.

Grab your Scor-pal or whatever you use for scoring. This part is a little tricky because you need to line up the  top left corner and the bottom right corner on the same score line.

Once you have it lined up, score your line. It is very important to remember that you are scoring from the top left corner of the card to the bottom right corner where it meets the fold line.

Use a bone folder to crease your score line. The first time I did this I freaked out because the folded "diamond" wouldn't sit down the way it was supposed to. I quickly learned this will sit properly once you have the weight of your stamped piece on it.
Cut the base for your stamped (or topper) image to match the size of your finished card. In this case, my base is 5x5 to match my finished card size.

Colour and decorate your image as you choose. Once it is ready to go, finish your base (the left side where your image will sit) and then add your tape of choice to the "diamond". Mount your stamped image and voila!

I hope you will give a twisted easel card a try. I honestly was terrified to try it - I thought it sounded like something hard and time consuming......but it truly isn't. They are actually quite easy to make and it's fun to try something different!

Ice Cream Makes Everything Better!

I don't know about you, but ice cream on a super hot day is the perfect cool down treat. It is also what we were given as children when we were sick to help us "feel better".....personally I'm good with ice cream any time! I really don't need a reason

This cutie named Waddles from Your Next Stamp is perfect for making a card with an ice cream focus! I am entering this card into Sketch and Colour Challenge #41 at Your Next Stamp.

You can't see it in the picture but the hats are coloured with Sparkle pens and the ice cream has a clear sparkle on it as well.

Sparkly Close Up

I coloured my stamp with alcohol markers and sparkle pens and fussy cut them. This stamp set has a matching die set but I don't have it so my manicure scissors got a work out!
3D Pop Dots give the middle penguin some dimension as he pops off the card. The sentiment is stamped directly on to the patterned paper and it is from a different stamp set also from Your Next Stamp (name is below).

Happy Retirement

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans! I hope you're having a great week!

My post today features "Butterfly Guy" and the Happy Retirement sentiment, both older stamps from High Hopes. I don't know anyone personally who is retiring any time soon but I felt like these two stamps went together perfectly and it is always good to have some extra cards in your stash. You never know what will come up!

I started by stamping Butterfly guy with my Misti and colouring with alcohol markers. I edged all of my papers with distress ink and added some sparkle to the butterflies with a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. The Polka Dot embossing folder from Cuttlebug was perfect to add some texture to my yellow cardstock. Silver brads and some silver magic mesh (to match the net) finish off my card.

Born To Golf

The countdown to the first official day of summer is on! so I thought a golfing card would be fun to play with this week.
I personally don't golf but I have more then a few friends and family who do. "Swinging Sherry, Golf Cart" and a sentiment from the Sentiment #4 set from High Hopes all helped me bring my vision to life.

I started my card by cutting my side step base and colouring and fussy cutting my images. I added some fun patterned paper from Echo Park I got on my last road trip to One Crazy Stamper a couple weeks ago and some grass and flowers. The fun clouds were added using some clear acetate - they look like they are hanging there on their own don't they?!?
The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a stitched rectangle die. Star Dust stickles give to bling to the flower centres and a few gumdrops finish off my card. Sherry is popped up with pop dots as well.

One Of Those Days

Today is a beautiful day where I live. Sunny, 16 degrees and a beautiful breeze. So why am I not outside enjoying it?

Because I have an old knee injury that has come back to haunt me and I can't walk so instead I hobbled to my craft room to make a card for the "Use A Die Cut" Spectrum Noir challenge on Facebook.

I used "Polly" a Wee Stamp for Whimsy Stamps. I am in love with this colour combination and I felt like this stamp was perfect for the combination.

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the sentiment and also fussy cut my image. I glued it on my background colour and fussy cut it again so I guess I made my own die cut as well lol.

Stamp: Polly, Wee Stamp - Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment: One Of Those Days - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Before Coffee

Hello OCS Fans!

I got in touch with my CAS (Clean and Simple) side this week. I LOVE my coffee and for some reason when I saw this Loungin' Lizzy stamp from High Hopes it reminded me of myself before coffee. I admit, I'm a bit of a bear before my coffee. I love Lizzy's expression so I wanted to keep my card simple to focus on her. I also have to admit I don't do rollers in my hair....just sayin.....

I also have to admit I find it very hard to take a good photo of an all white background card - but practice makes perfect so I will keep working on that.
I coloured Lizzy with alcohol markers and paper pieced her bath robe. I LOVE her bunny slippers! Silver Wink of Stella adds a little bit of sparkle to her earrings. I cut my white background piece to the size I wanted and after creating my sentiment on my computer printed it and voila! A striped matching paper was added to the outside edge and gumdrops finish off my card.

Happy Trails!

This week I have been playing with an older stamp from High Hopes called "Cowgirl Candice". It's no secret I love horses so this stamp was perfect to add to my horse stamp "collection".....and yes, it is a collection!

I stamped Cowgirl Candice using my Misti and fussy cut her, I don't think my scissors miss me anymore! I wanted to keep my background in more neutral tones so the stamp would pop - but I love the flowered paper from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine collection so I had to include it. I used walnut stain distress ink with a flourish corner stamp I have in my stash to add to the corners and to ink the paper edges.
Some red boots add some fun to this image I think (thank you Cheri for the suggestion)! I added some Silver Wink of Stella to the rings on the bridle and some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers.  The "Happy Trails" sentiment (also from High Hopes) and some ivory gumdrops finish off my card.

I started by colouring my image with alcohol markers and fussy cutting him out. He is popped up with pop dots. I added a layer of cardstock, a layer of patterned paper, a polaroid die and file folder, the word notes and the sentiment. My card is finished off with some grey gumdrops.

Father's Day Bob

                                Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

It's the beginning of June already and that means Father's Day is just around the corner! My post for today features "Bob Loves Grass" a very cool image for a Father's Day Card!

I stamped Bob using my Misti and fussy cut him. He is having way too much fun mowing his grass! I created my background by die cutting some clouds, fence and some grass and then put it all together with patterned paper the Homespun Collection by Simple Stories. I added some clear wink of stella to the handle and top of the lawn mower and some glossy accents to his glasses. A couple of screw head brads finish off my card.

A Friend Helps You Shop...

It's the first of June and that means a new challenge here at One Crazy Stamper. This month it's Anything Goes!

For this month's challenge I used "Shopping Divas" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I made a purse/shopping bag for these two shopping friends.

Close Up

I started by cutting the matching svg files (07 and 14) for the stamp with my Cricut, stamped it using my Misti and coloured the girls with SN/Copic alcohol markers. I used the Card Purse tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers to form my purse/shopping bag. You can find the link here. I created the sentiment on my computer. I added Clear, Gold and Silver Wink of Stella to the glasses and jewellry for some bling.
