Eclipse Note Cards

My news feed on Facebook has been full of gorgeous Eclipse cards lately. Truthfully this type of card fascinates me....it would be totally out of my comfort zone but I had to try one!

A couple of weekends ago I was playing around with some ink blending and stamping. I made some backgrounds to have some on hand in case I needed a quick note card or two.
I decided they would be perfect for me to use to try an eclipse card with. I used some scripty word dies I had on hand .....and honestly I knew they would be a challenge to get popped up and they were! Next time I think I will try some thicker letters

I started by doing some ink blending and then using a darker colour to stamp my flowers. I found this stamp at a destash I went to so I'm not sure who makes it. I added some clear glitter to the larger, darker flowers on both cards.
Next, I die cut my words and popped them up with foam. The finished size on is 3.25" x 3.25" and it was a great way to use up some of my cardstock pieces.

In The Air

We have been in a deep freeze for at least a week - honestly I've lost count for how many days that have been a feels like temperature of -30 or colder.

All this cold weather has turned my thoughts to wishing for Spring! My dog won't stay out for more then 5 minutes to do his "chores" so he is wishing for Spring too!

My friend "Willard Weather Ant" from High Hopes sure has his eye on the Spring weather to come doesn't he?!? I chose to colour him in some bright, Spring feel colours - you know.....with thoughts of Spring and sun and all......

Our friend Willard is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a hand stitched die. Paper from the Echo Park Spring collection were perfect fro my Spring theme. The sentiment was stamped and cut out using a stitched oval die. I added a banner with a butterfly cut out to match the theme. Some ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Owl Love

I have a confession - I don't usually make Valentine's Day cards but sometimes you have an image cross your crafty desk that just screams at you to make it a Valentine's Day card.

That is what happened with Love Birds. I kept the layout very clean and simple (for me) - they are just too cute and I wanted them to really be the focus of my card. I also have them sitting on the perfect branch  - it has a few leaves to give this sweet couple some privacy

After colouring my stamps with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut them. Their tails had to be cut off so I could put them behind the branch. I set them aside and blended some inks to create a light airy background. I added some hearts above their heads for fun. The sentiment was masked off and stamped directly on my background - thankful for my Misti for this one! The heart they are holding is coloured with a sparkle pen - so hard to get a good photo of! Some simple gumdrops finish off my card.

Love You

It is the 15th of the month and that means it's time for a new Anything Goes challenge at Whimsy Stamps!
January is a cold, snowy month where I live so thinking about doing Valentine's cards or spring themed cards helps get me through the winter months!

Tracy Wray's "Love Me Tender" set from the new January release is perfect for a masculine feel Valentine's Day card!

After printing and colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I used the hand stitched nested rectangles to cut it out. I cut out around part of the pink heart and popped it up with a pop dot just for fun. The pink heart has some clear sparkle pen on it - hard to see in the photo. I printed my sentiment and added it to some matching red cardstock. Ribbon and sparkly gumdrops finish off my card.

Happy New Home

This week I challenged myself to not only participate in a challenge but also to only use die cuts - no colouring! Yikes! What was I thinking?!

The Sketch and Color Challenge #80 at Your Next Stamp was the challenge I chose to participate in and it was fun to use so many Your Next Stamp products to create my card.

Sketch and Colours

I didn't have any colouring to do on this one but I decided to do some ink blending in the shape of a heart for my background and then cut it out with a stitched rectangle die.  I added a die cut of a cute house and heart shaped plants. It is hard to see in the photo but I added some green ink to the edges of the hills. My sentiment was stamped and cut out using a fish tail banner die. Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card. This panel is popped up with foam pop dots just for fun.

Card Recipe
Home Is Where The Heart Is die - Your Next Stamp
Sentiment - Waddles Summer Fun - Your Next Stamp
Patterned Paper - Winter Plaid - Your Next Stamp

Good Times

Did anyone else grow up going to slumber parties?? I grew up with a group of girls that often had slumber parties......or sleep overs are they are called today  - seemed every Birthday was the perfect excuse for a slumber party. Up too late, eating junk food and being silly - the perfect recipe for fun!

My post for this week features "Girl Talk" an older stamp from High Hopes. There seems to be quite the story being told here!

The stamp is coloured with alcohol markers and cut out using a stitched oval. I matched the stitched oval with the sentiment as well and used a stitched border die for a fun curve in the patterned paper. Photo corners, ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Bubble Bath Shower

Welcome back! My post today is sharing an older High Hopes stamp called "Bubble Bath Bradley". When I saw this stamp I immediately thought baby card!
Since it is a bubble bath theme, I decided I would make a card for my stash for a baby shower. The inside will be filled in once I have a shower to go to - no there aren't any in my near future that I know of - this cutie is for my stash.

I coloured the main stamp with alcohol markers but for the bubbles and water I added some glitter pen. Man glitter pens are hard to get a good photo of!!! I cut everything out with a classic circle die and my Fiskars circle cutter. I formed my card base and added paper from the Pebbles Lullaby collection. Twine, a flower from my stash, sentiment and gumdrops finish off my card.

Stamp: Bubble Bath Bradley - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Digital paper and a sentiment both designed by Tracy Wray were perfect for my card layout - the links are below. A fun ribbon bow trimmed in gold and some gold Nuvo glitter drops finish off my card.

Everything Grows

Happy New Year - I can't believe we are at the beginning of a new year already and the start of a new challenge! This month the design team will be using a variety of older High Hopes stamps - it will be something different every day! Fun right?!

Our challenge this month is Anything Goes ....with a twist - well a couple actually   Use purple/blue and a ribbon or button. Such a fun way to start the new year!  I get to use "Gabby" and decided that I wanted to use some bright, fun colours! I am playing along with the challenge twist by using blue and twine (shh don't tell the boss I cheated a little ).

After colouring up cute Gabby with her watering can, I hand fussy cut her and went around the edges with a black marker. I formed my easel card base and added some bright polka dot paper from Doodlebug. The scene was made with variety of dies - the list is below. The sentiment is stamped and mounted on cardstock and is strategically placed to help as a "stopper" for my easel card. Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card.
