Zoe's Purrfect Day

I have a few cat lovers in my life who sometimes need a pick me up card sent just so they know I am thinking of them.

Miss Zoe and her cute kitten are perfect for this type of card!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white border. I added it to the matching card stock and cut around the stamp again. I decided to use some patterned paper that had kind of a country feel to it, I thought it was perfect for this card. The sentiment was stamped directly on to the patterned paper - love my Misti! and some matching gumdrops finish off my card.

Home Tweet Home

It seems like Spring has finally arrived! One of my favourite things about Spring is when the birds come back into the neighbourhood.
I have a tree in one of my flower beds that often becomes the home for a nest and some baby birds. It is fun to watch the Mom feed to the babies and to watch the babies as they learn to fly.

The Fancy Birdhouse 1 stamp reminded me of this fun part of Spring and I added the Landing Birdie as she seems to be coming home.

I coloured the stamps with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut them. Next I cut my doily and circle and added some clouds using a cloud die, dauber and ink. Then it was on to my computer to create my sentiment, print it and cut it out using the matching circle and doily dies. Some ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Dress For Success

Did anyone else ever like to play dress up as a child? I got the chance to do that when I went over to my friend's places for sleep overs. It was way too much fun to pull out the fancy dresses and high heeled shoes from the special toy box they were kept in.

Danni Dress Up from High Hopes Rubber Stamps sure brought back some fun childhood memories!

After colouring this cutie with alcohol markers, I added some Stickles to her boa and pearls for a little sparkle. I set it aside to dry and cut and assembled my patterned paper layers. Some matching glittery ribbon and Nuvo gumdrops finish off my card.

Magical Friendship

Every once and a while as time permits, I like to play along in a challenge when I have creative block. The sketch and colour challenge at Your Next Stamp is one of my go to challenges to participate in.

I have had my eye on the Magical Ponies set from Your Next Stamp for a while now and a couple weeks ago was able to purchase it at a local show. This set has ponies, sentiments and fun decorative elements all in one set. I decided it was the perfect set to play along with the Your Next Stamp Sketch and Colour Challenge #89.

The Sketch

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge - I really do need to get the matching dies! It is hard to see in the photo but the pink mane and tail are coloured with a sparkle pen. I also added some polka dots to the bow with a white gel pen just for fun.

I cut puffy clouds and inked the edges to create the lines on the sketch instead of using patterned paper. I added some fun stars (from the set) to help give my card a magical feel and cut my slider piece using a mini slider die.

I masked each word in the sentiment (it is in a long line) to be able to stack it.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Magical Ponies - Your Next Stamp
Dies: Stitched Rectangle, Puffy Clouds Border, Mini Slider - Your Next Stamp
Patterned Paper: Watercolour Wash Brights - MFT

Pink Champagne Spectrum Sparkle Pen, Memories and Stampin Up ink

Spectrum Noir Markers: MB1 MB3 MB4 IG2 AB1 AB3 PP3 PP5 DR3

I hope you have enjoyed my card today! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary

At the end of April my parents celebrated their 50th Anniversary. My siblings and I planned lots of surprises for them throughout the day including pink flamingos in their front yard! They have received their card so I can share it now

One of my tasks was to create their card. I wanted to include flowers and one of Mom's favourite colours - purple. I also wanted to include something for my Dad which is where the wood comes in. Since his retirement he has been dabbling in wood working so the wood paper is perfect to include him.

The inside included a special note from all their "Kids" which they loved.

I wanted to use the flowers on the With Deepest Sympathy stamp but the sentiment didn't fit. I grabbed my post it notes and strategically masked off the sentiment and stamped the flowers. The sentiment was another test in masking and placement as it is actually a long sentiment not stacked like I have done it.
I sooo love my Misti!

After holding my breath and stamping, I coloured the flowers with alcohol markers and cut it out. I added some stickles to not only the balls around the flowers but also in some of the white space around the stamp.
Some wood paper in the background, inked edges and some twine finish off my card.

Stamp: With Deepest Sympathy -  High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Happy Aniversary - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Birthday Annalee

May for me means a couple of very special Birthdays for a couple very special ladies in my life - my bestie and my God daughter. Shh don't tell them, I will definitely have to be careful what I say when I share this one on Facebook!

Annalee is perfect for my Bestie's Birthday card. My Bestie loves cats and has always had one or more in her house as long as I have known her. She is my favourite red head and it was fun to colour up this stamp for her - red hair and all!

After colouring up my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a stitched oval die. I cut my patterned paper pieces to fit the layout I decided on and stamped and cut out my sentiment. I added a stitched heart banner, ribbon, and a flower. Some gumdrops finish off my card.

Unicorn Daydreams

It's Day 2 of the new digital release at Whimsy! I hope you are enjoying the new stamps, papers and sentiments!

I got to play with the new Unicorn Daydreams by the talented Crissy Armstrong. How gorgeous is this unicorn!?! I had some fun colouring a rainbow horn with sparkle markers, it sure does glitter!!! it's just hard to get a good picture of it.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and sparkle pens I hand fussy cut it and went around the edge with a black marker. I set it aside and printed my digital paper. I used a circle die to cut out my "background" piece and went around the edge with a black marker to help it stand out a bit. Next I cut and sized my white card stock and printed my sentiment directly on it. The unicorn was added last with pop dots to add some dimension. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Unicorn Daydreams- Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment: Big Wishes Sentiments - Whimsy Stamps
Patterned Paper: Starry Nights - Whimsy Stamps
